Qigong

Qigong is a healing art form that has its roots in China, dating back over 2000 years.  The ancient practitioners of Qigong were said to be shamans who held the belief that we as humans are a microcosm of the Universe. Qigong emerged as a practice to eliminate dis-ease in the body, balance and cultivate energy and create harmony on the physical, energetic and spiritual levels of being.

“Qi” means energy and “Gong” means cultivation.  There are forms of Qigong that focus on personal practice and self cultivation, however medical Qigong focuses on working individually with a practitioner to uncover underlying disharmonies and return the body back to a state of health. Medical Qigong uses the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including theories of the major organs and their functioning, channels, points etc. but places greater emphasis on the energetic/emotional manifestation of dis-ease in the body and the root cause of illness.

A treatment in Medical Qigong will vary based on the needs of each client.  According to the philosophy of Qigong, there are three realms: physical, energetic and spiritual.  The techniques used in Qigong aim to bring balance and restore health to all three.  Methods include specific energetic protocols, massage and tissue manipulation, cupping, therapeutic techniques, and prescription exercises.

Medical Qigong has been known to help with pain, injuries, headaches, circulation and blood flow to the brain, immune functioning, stroke recovery, auto immune disorders, organ disease, enhance brain functioning, increase overall energy, promote emotional and psychological well being and much more.

Private Medical Qigong sessions available Monday through Friday in Monterey, CA.
